So where is the oddest place you find easy careers to get into? Hint: You don't even have to leave your home.

Staying home, or going somewhere with an internet connection, is where you will find easy careers to get into. They are plentiful, they are on the rise and they are the new way of working.

Who can benefit most?

Let's look at an obvious choice, and growing trend in America – the stay-at-home mom.

According to CNBC.com:

More moms are staying at home with their kids full time, and those moms tend to be younger, less educated and more likely to be poor than women who work outside the home, new research finds.

Instead of the wealthy women who stay home with their kids because their family is making enough money, most stay at home moms are younger and without degrees.

About 30% live in poverty.

While there are some women with degrees and a household income of over $75,000, the stats show that they are only 5%.

Biggest reason they stay at home? The cost of getting a job is GREATER THAN the cost of staying at home.

Childcare is the biggest expense by far.

Stay at home moms can benefit, but really any demographic need flexibility with transportation and hours – retirees, the disabled, the unemployed, recent grads, military spouses overseas, people home with long-term illnesses (but who can still function).

Yet you do not have to fall into any of the above categories. Most people feel secure going to and from to work every day. If that is NOT you, if you are willing to start a new career from home, read on.

The best way to do that is to work from home. Working from home has some of the easiest careers to get into, if you know what to do and where to look.

Easy Careers to Get Into: Internet Marketing

Internet marketing can be defined in many different ways.

At one point in time, internet marketing consisted primarily of placing banner ads on websites or simply running your own website, with or without a blog.

Like the original big bang of the universe, internet marketing has exploded into a million different pieces, creating new systems of how to market – and make some serious money.

From pay-per-click advertising to social media advertising, internet marketing is diverse. and is growing more diverse by the month.

Basically, what should internet marketing accomplish?

  • Communicate a company’s message on the World Wide Web (Hello World, here I am!)
  • Conduct online research about a company’s customers or services (What do you think?)
  • Sell products or services on the internet (Buy this!)

First point of contact with any internet marketing is a website.

“Thanks, Captain Obvious,” you may be thinking.

Hear me out.

According to Google's blog, “more than half of all small businesses in the U.S. don’t have a website.”

Do you see an easy career to get into now?

Website design, internet marketing, graphic design, writing, editing, consulting – these are all opportunities for you.

Because the market is WIDE OPEN.

Let's get back into internet marketing.

6 major types of internet marketing.

Internet marketing can be mixed and matched with your business or career path according to your own strengths, preferences and business style. Let's look at the different types of internet marketing.

  1. E-mail marketing is at the top of our list. It is one of the best ways to make a profit online, with almost any business. All you do is create a way to get someone to give you their email address (capture). You use an autoresponder to manage your email list. Then you can reach out to people over and over again, making them customers.
  2. Article marketing is writing an article, putting a link to your website and contact information at the bottom and sending it to an article directory.
  3. Social media marketing is not just having a page or profile. It is having an active, engaged social media presence for yourself and your product or service.
  4. SEO stands for search engine optimization. This means using certain keywords to target people searching for your product or service.
  5. Video marketing is another internet marketing superstar. It is launching a video about your product. It can you talking about your product to a full production. They are high-converting tools that bring your marketing to life.
  6. Image-centric marketing is using images like memes, infographics, photography, etc. to get your message across. Images are more likely to be shared on Facebook than a regular text post, for example.

Internet Marketing + (Your Career Path) = Higher Profits

If you have a special skill set or expertise, you can use internet marketing to market those skills and get more business for yourself.

Here are some examples of what I mean:

  • Internet marketing + Business administration
  • Internet marketing + Network marketing
  • Internet marketing + Graphic design
  • Internet marketing + Interior design
  • Internet marketing + Administrative assistant
  • Internet marketing + Medical expertise
  • Internet marketing + Legal background

For example, if you have a knack for writing, you may assist companies or your own at-home business pursuits by writing and sharing press releases online, through channels like PRWeb.

You could pursue additional income or a second career writing blogs, articles, or social media (Facebook and Twitter) posts for companies that are strapped for time to complete these necessary tasks themselves.

The Best Ways to Utilize Internet Marketing

There are many advantages to pursuing internet marketing as a career or secondary income.

Work from home.
One, finding work as an internet marketer, whether for yourself or in helping a company promote its own brand, is a job that you can work from home. With a computer, some internet know-how, and a little enthusiasm, you can help a contracted company or your own online business promotion in your pajamas before your morning Cup O’ Joe.

Heck, sometimes I don't comb my hair or shower. My business, my rules.

Freedom to do your own thing.
Working a new career as an internet marketer allows you the freedom of autonomy. Whether you promote yourself or another company, most internet marketers work independently, are their own bosses, and serve as independent contractors when the internet marketer is approached by companies in need of their expertise.

Set your own schedule.
Internet marketers benefit from setting their own schedules. If you cannot sleep at 3 a.m. and overnight TV is less than appealing, you can always turn on your computer and get a jump start on the workday. Planning to attend a baseball game on a Tuesday afternoon, you can work either before or after the game and still achieve any goals you have for yourself or that a contracted client may have for you. The added flexibility allows you to schedule your work when it is convenient for you as opposed to the typical 9-to-5 obligations of a desk job and a demanding boss.

Work your tail off now, to be rewarded with more time freedom later.
After an initial setup period, you will have more free time for yourself and your family. If you are pursuing internet marketing for your own at-home business, there will be a time where the set up of your company (promotion, product procurement, etc.) will take a LOT of time to achieve. Once your website is launched, your products are available, your clients are happy and fill your mailing lists, many of your marketing obligations will be on auto-pilot, allowing your work to run on its own like a well-oiled machine. That's when you have the time and money to go to Hawaii. Or Miami. Or wherever you want. It's all you.

Earning money as an online marketer is a lucrative career because there are no requirements for a set schedule and your ability to make a livable income is easy if you are willing to put forth the effort. Unlike a salaried position at the office, there are no limits to the amount of money you can make as an online marketer. The sky really is the limit!

Hear me again. There. Are. NO. Limits.

Getting Started

The most important first step to beginning a career as an internet marketer is to develop a plan. If you plan to market your own business, research the demand for the product or service you are considering offering your clients, such as services as a reunion planner.

Based upon this research, ask yourself,

  1. Can I make enough money doing this?
  2. Will it be worth my time?
  3. Is it scalable?

The next most important step is to research everything you possibly can about internet marketing. Find out how it can benefit your business model and plan. Not every internet marketing option is cookie cutter enough to be standard for all.

For some industries, a social media presence is most important because a company’s target market may frequent Facebook or Twitter, especially if a business already has a lot of word-of-mouth advertising.

For another industry, creating a pay-per-click campaign comprised of at least five different ad copy options may be necessary to reach a targeted market. Once you have these basic skills and needs mapped  out and set in stone, you will be ready to tackle whatever the road ahead as an internet marketer has in store for you.

Be sure to do your homework!

Now that we have covered easy careers to get into, you should have a better idea of how internet marketing is the easiest of all, how it can benefit you, how versatile it is and how you can use it to create a job for yourself. You should also have an idea of other careers you can get into working from the comfort of your own home. It doesn't matter what the economy is doing, how many gaps you have in your resume or how crazy your schedule is, there is always a place for you online.

Many people are choosing home-based careers in internet marketing. Everything from search engine optimization to social media marketing to pay-per-click advertising has fed many families. While many aspects of gaining experience as an internet marketer are achieved through trial and error and learning by doing, more and more workers are choosing to pursue this way of life for its ease, freedom, and earning potential.

Inevitably, a new career as an internet marketer will come with some mistakes along with way, but with each one, you will become wiser and find new strategies and theories that work best for your clients or your own internet marketing needs.

If you market smarter, not harder; set a budget that best suits where you are at the moment; and are willing to put forth the effort to follow through with your clients and lead lists, ask questions and get ideas to make any plans you have in place better and agree that life – and internet marketing – is a constant learning experience, you will be well on your way to achieving great things in your new online career. Easy careers to get into are right at your fingertips.
