So I got the bright idea to get online and put up photos, music, and updates on a “website”… at that time I had no clue what a BLOG<\/a> was and why you would want one as a one person shop.<\/p>\n I learned the hard way.<\/p>\n I started to play with Dreamweaver<\/a> and Frontpage Express<\/a><\/p>\n O M G<\/p>\n It was so bad and painful<\/span>.<\/p>\n Being able to update, keep up, post, and interface with them was a pain in the butt.<\/p>\n Then came Blogger.com<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Check out the Very first blog post I ever had on my\u00a0blogger website<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n I can't even spell right… no joke. I wrote<\/p>\n “This is my firt<\/strong><\/span> blog. I'm trying to get with the tech savvy.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n That is so dang funny.. The first official blog post (after geocities, frontpage, dreamweaver fails…) and I butcher a post and show how bad I can't spell and type at the same time (that's gotta be a skill in some cultures… right?)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The idea I want to drive home is this.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In 2002 I was brand new to blogging. My very first blog post sucked. I don't know anyone else who had a worse blog post starting out.<\/p>\n But if you fast forward to 2015 I'm featured as one of the best bloggers on the net and even featured in this documentary as a million dollar blogger<\/a>. (click image below to see my interview)<\/p>\n *my wife refused to get involved in the business until I made more money (wives… they know what they want), and so I just focused and retired her from accounting and myself from engineering in 2011 with blogging. (income disclaimer – results will vary – avg income results<\/a>) My old blogger blog is littered with adsense ads, and it's monetization strategy on blogger is NOT to be an affiliate…..<\/p>\n They want you to drive traffic so THEY can make money.<\/p>\n I didn't realize this but it made sense.<\/p>\n Servers and hosting costs money, but this blog platform is free… how do these free platforms make money?<\/p>\n Once I saw the inside and as a business owner I had to move on and learn how to really build a business without those restrictions.<\/p>\n But after having started from a simple blogger.com blog back 2001-2002 to mainly communicate to my family and friends I started to understand<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There are REAL transactions being made online.. without a phone call or hotel gathers….<\/p>\n I saw you could write content, and you could potentially make some money online.<\/p>\n To me it was genius.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n![\"2015-09-18_1700\"](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/teamprojectmayhem.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-18_1700.png?resize=521%2C309\")

\nI can't say it was a complete waste of time using that old platforms but one thing I did learn… It's not built for people who are looking to make some money from home.<\/p>\nAnd that brought me to scouring the net on platforms that catered to someone like me<\/h4>\n
